Following activity monitoring
Instagram Following List in Order
Monitor an Instagram account’s following activity and get notified the second they follow a new account — public or private, no Instagram login.
Quick answer
An Instagram following tracker records the accounts a public profile follows and shows you what changed over time. Enter a username, see the most recent follows, and keep tracking to get every new follow listed with the date it was first seen. No Instagram login is needed.

What an Instagram following tracker does
The Following tab on Instagram shows a list, but it does not show history. You cannot tell which names are new, which disappeared, or when the list changed. A following tracker fills that gap by saving the list on every scan and comparing it with the one before.
The result is a timeline of changes. Instead of a list of thousands of names, you see a short list of new follows and count changes, which is usually what you actually want to know.
Because Instagram shows the newest follows first for most accounts, even the very first scan is useful. The accounts at the top of the list are, in most cases, the ones followed most recently.
Who uses a following tracker
Following data is public, and people use it for practical reasons.
- Marketers – see which creators and brands a competitor starts following.
- Creators – spot which accounts peers in the niche are connecting with.
- Researchers – follow how public figures and organisations build their networks.
- Fans – find out when an artist follows a collaborator, often before an announcement.
In each case the value comes from timing and context. Knowing that a brand followed a creator last Tuesday says more than knowing that it follows them at all.
Following data works best alongside the rest of a public profile. Opening a new follow and looking at its bio, posts and stories helps you understand why the connection might have been made.
Setting up the following tracker
Enter the public username above and run the first scan. Review the recent follows, then choose to track the profile. From then on it is rechecked automatically. Turn on in-app alerts to see new follows as notifications, and email alerts if you also want an email.
You can track several profiles. Each has its own history, so you can come back to any of them and read what changed since you last looked.
Tracking and alerts are part of paid plans. The first scan lets you check that the account is public and that the results are what you expect before you decide.
What you can and can't see
The tracker works only with what Instagram shows publicly.
What you can see
- Recent follows of a public account
- New follows found between scans
- Following and follower count changes
- Public details of followed accounts
What you can't see
- Following lists of private accounts
- The exact minute a follow was made
- Follows made and removed between scans
- Likes, messages or other private activity
Dates show when the tracker first saw a follow, because Instagram does not publish follow times.
