What Instagram tagged posts are

A tagged post is a photo or video that someone else published and tagged another account in. Tagging adds the account's username to the image itself, so anyone tapping the photo sees who is in it. Instagram then collects all of those posts in a separate section of the tagged person's profile, called Tagged, or Photos of You in older versions of the app.

This is different from a mention. A mention is an @username written in a caption or comment, and it does not place the post on the mentioned profile. Only real photo tags appear in the Tagged tab, which is why the tab is such a reliable place to find pictures of a person, a brand or a place.

Tagged posts often tell you more about an account than its own grid does. The grid shows what the owner chose to share. The Tagged tab shows what friends, colleagues, photographers, events and brands shared about them: group photos from a trip, a wedding gallery, a collaboration with a company, a restaurant that tagged a food blogger, or a team photo from a sports club.

How to see someone's tagged posts on Instagram

In the Instagram app, open the profile you are interested in and look under the bio. You will see a row of icons: the grid for posts, the play icon for reels, and the person-in-a-square icon for tagged posts. Tap the last one and Instagram lists every tagged post the owner has allowed on their profile, newest first.

The catch is that the Instagram app and website both require you to log in before they show a profile's tagged tab. If you do not have an account, have been logged out, or simply prefer not to use your own profile, the tab is hidden behind a sign-up wall.

That is the gap an Instagram tagged viewer fills. InstaSPY reads the same public tagged posts and shows them in your browser, with no Instagram login and nothing to install.

  1. Copy the public username, or the full instagram.com profile link.
  2. Paste it into the search box at the top of this page.
  3. Press "View tagged posts". The profile opens directly on the Tagged tab.
  4. Scroll through the tagged photos and videos. Each one shows the account that posted it.
  5. Open a post to see it full size, read its caption, and swipe to the next one.

See who posted each tagged photo

A tagged photo is only half the story without its publisher. InstaSPY puts the username of the account that posted it on every tagged post, so you immediately understand the context. A tag from a brand usually means a paid or gifted collaboration. A tag from a photographer means a professional shoot. A tag from a friend is usually a shared moment, and a tag from a venue or event page tells you where the photo was taken.

This makes the tagged viewer useful well beyond curiosity. Marketers use it to see which brands an influencer has really worked with. Small businesses use it to find customers who posted their product. Journalists and researchers use it to confirm where a public figure has appeared. Event organisers use it to collect the photos guests shared.

Instagram tagged viewer vs. the Instagram app

Both show the same public tagged posts, because the content comes from the same public profile. The difference is how you get there and what is attached to your visit.

Why some tagged posts are missing

If a public profile shows fewer tagged posts than you expected, or none at all, there is almost always a simple reason. Instagram gives account owners full control over their Tagged tab, and the publisher of a post controls whether it is public.

  • The owner hid the post from their profile. Instagram lets people remove a tagged post from their Tagged tab without deleting it.
  • The owner turned on manual tag approval, so new tags only appear once they approve them.
  • The tag was removed, either by the owner or by the person who posted the photo.
  • The photo was posted by a private account. Posts from private accounts are only visible to that account's followers, even when they tag a public profile.
  • The account is private. Tagged posts of a private profile are only shared with approved followers.

None of these are errors. They are privacy settings working as intended, and InstaSPY respects all of them.

Tagged photos, videos and carousels

Tagged content comes in every format Instagram supports. Single photos load at full resolution. Tagged videos and reels play directly in the viewer. For carousels, the multi-photo posts, InstaSPY shows the first image as the preview so the grid stays easy to scan.

Captions are kept with every post, so you can read what the publisher wrote, which hashtags they used, and which other accounts they mentioned. Likes and comment counts appear when the publisher has not hidden them.

Download tagged photos you appear in

Some of the best photos of you live on other people's accounts: a friend's holiday album, a photographer's event gallery, a brand's campaign. From the tagged viewer you can save any public tagged photo or video to your device in its original quality. Photos save as JPG and videos as MP4.

Please credit the original publisher when you reshare a photo, and respect photographers' and creators' rights to their work.

Using a tagged viewer responsibly

Tagged posts are public because their publishers chose to share them with everyone. Use the viewer to research collaborations, reconnect with friends, find your own photos, or check a business. Do not use it to pressure, harass or monitor anyone. If you would like your own profile removed from InstaSPY pages, you can submit a removal request at any time.

What you can and can't see in the Tagged tab

The tagged viewer shows exactly what Instagram shows any visitor to a public profile, nothing more.

What you can see

  • Public posts and reels an account was tagged in
  • The username of the account that published each tagged post
  • Captions, and like and comment counts when they are not hidden

What you can't see

  • Tagged posts of private accounts
  • Tagged posts the owner hid from their profile or did not approve
  • Mentions in captions or comments that are not real photo tags

If a public profile shows no tagged posts, the owner has most likely hidden them or has not been tagged in public posts yet.
